Amazon Jungle Tour with Indigenous Ticuna Guides – Authentic Experience from Leticia, Colombia
Join an unforgettable Amazon jungle tour led by Ticuna indigenous guides, exploring primary rainforest, learning survival skills, wildlife tracking, and discovering the Amazon’s biodiversity. This experience includes jungle treks, nights in hammocks, a visit to the Ticuna community of Arara, and real interaction with local culture—all starting from Leticia, Amazonas, Colombia.
Day 1 – Into the Primary Rainforest
The tour begins at 9:00 a.m. from Hostal Casa de las Palmas (Cra. 11 #13-110, Leticia). You’ll hike deep into the Amazon rainforest, guided by Ticuna locals who will teach you ancestral survival techniques and how to track wildlife in its natural habitat.
You’ll arrive at a remote jungle camp, take a dip in a nearby stream, and go on day and night walks to search for Amazonian wildlife and plants. At night, you’ll sleep in hammocks under the canopy, surrounded by jungle sounds and traditional Ticuna stories.
Day 2 – Cultural Exchange in Arara Community
After breakfast, you’ll continue hiking (approx. 9 km) through the jungle to reach the Ticuna community of Arara, located near the Amazon River. There, you’ll experience an authentic cultural exchange—learning about their traditional dances, crafts, foods, and daily life in the rainforest. You’ll spend the night in a hammock at a local home, enjoying authentic and sustainable tourism.
Day 3 – Return with the Jungle in Your Heart
In the morning, you’ll have time to explore more of the community and take part in cultural activities. If weather and water levels allow, you may also go on a traditional canoe ride through one of the nearby lakes, paddling gently through the flooded forest.
After a traditional lunch, you’ll begin the hike back to Leticia, with estimated arrival between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Note: Please be aware that the sequence of activities might be subject to change based on weather conditions or decisions made by the guides to ensure the best possible experience and safety.

Dress in comfortable clothes that you can wear during the tours, because you must bear in mind that in several of them are made long walks in the middle of the jungle. We recommend the use of long sleeve shirt and long pants to avoid insect bites. Avoid the use of leggings, as they do not provide as much protection in the jungle. Finally, in terms of clothing, avoid the use of black, since it can attract mosquitoes.
